Alabama

This just in… We will be moving to Alabama. Alan has accepted a new job as a UNIX Systems Analyst, starting May 16… Shortly the www.somenet.net website will actually be this new SomeNetBlog. Hopefully via the blog software I will be able to provide more frequent updates, and if lucky - some of the SomeNet viewers will register a username, and join into some of the topics. I hope to generate topics covering many of the categories on the previous web site, including computer security, ham radio, weather reporting / severe weather spotting, and whatever else we can come up with. It may take some time to get adjusted to this mode - and I may be a little busy for the next month or so, gettin moved. Anyway, using the blog for www also will allow me to shut down the server in Charleston, as the blog is running on the server in Tennessee. (Thanks again Gary…)

Ever onward and upward. /;^)

It is starting to get a little exciting, as I only have 3 days left at the old office. I have arranged for a studio apartment in Huntsville, starting mid-May. The first POD will be delivered to storage this week for filling, and the house will probably go on the market next week. This is the tough part, sorting, pitching, and filling boxes. Hopefully the market is good, and we get an offer pretty quickly. Once the 2nd POD is loaded, and the house sold - we pick a new house, and unload our stuff. Gee, it all sounds so easy from here.
    Wish us luck /;^)

The excitement continues to build, as I have about 3 days left in Charleston. We managed to pack way-bunches more stuff into the POD than I had expected, and they took it away to the local warehouse. Having the time to pack carefully, and maximize the space makes a huge difference. I wish that this option had been available for previous cross country moves. This make
it bearable… So anyway, I’ll pick up a small UHaul trailer on Friday, and head out Saturday morning, on my initial journey to Alabama. With any luck I’ll be able to sneak in on some wireless connection, to update this post Sunday.
    Tally-Ho /;^)
