I met you at the liquor store!

Just the other day I saw a former supervisor of mine entering the ABC store #77 located at 700-A Pratt Avenue in Huntsville. According to my receipt, it was shortly after 5:32:22PM CST.
I had just purchased a fifth of Jack Daniel’s Old Number 7 whiskey. With 4% state sales tax and 2% county sales tax the total was $30.73.
In California, it was about half that, and I could buy it at any grocery store.
Hey! I’m helping support our “weak” economy!
I sent an e-mail to her.
I hope she replies.
I hope she doesn’t deny that she was there.
Hypocrisy sucks.
I like good whiskey and good tequila, which means I drink it straight… out of the bottle into the glass without ice or dilution.
And I love the LORD Jesus.
Yeah.
What’re you Baptists going to do with that?

First of all, as you pretty much acknowledged, y’all in the South are paying too much for your spirits. Second, you already know that I don’t think that alcohol is necessarily antithetical to a Christian lifestyle. As Augustine said, “Love God and do what you want.” Of course, Augustine was known for a treatise on how sin disorders our love, and so I think we need to discern in all we do whether we are indeed loving God first. Thirdly, did the supervisor see you and not acknowledge you? Why do you think she might not acknowledge she was there?
