Imagery

Building a page for weather imagery and other hurricane reference links. . .

Bring together maps, unusual weather conditions, satellite telemetry with amazing remote sensor input, and high resolution computer aided graphics and animation - and you have my attention. These are a few of my favorite things.

Here we have some links to various weather related stuff that I have bookmarked.

I put this page together for a quick look at some of the images the experts use in tropical weather monitoring. I like to compare the visible views with the IR enhanced views. This also has links to discussion comparing the various climate forecasting simulation models. Hats off to NOAA.

This is the grandaddy of weather info sites. Most anything you want to know about US weather can be found by starting here. Radar, Severe Weather Prediction, historical data, tutorials on the “how does it work” topics like doppler radar, cloud formation - you name it.
This will be the official site for Tropical Cyclone Forecasts and Advisories. The published reports are typically updated every 6 hours - 5 and 11 Eastern.
Here is the home for the Storm Prediction Center - origin of all the watches and warnings.

Neat collection of noteworthy images, most always accompanied by excellent interpretation.
